A wide array of customers have learned they can rely on Armstrong Warehousing to safely handle their most demanding third-party logistics needs.

“We specialize in providing a positive experience for customers while providing efficient and cost effective warehousing, order picking, fulfillment and distribution solutions,” says Faye Armstrong, who is co-owner of the company, which is based in Mississauga, Ontario.

“Our corporate clients’ continued support and trust have enabled Armstrong to be a market leader in the 3PL industry,” she says.

“We distribute locally and nationally across Canada. Our customer’s customers are small independent retailers, mass retailers and everything in between.”

Warehousing and fulfillment services include pick-and-pack order fulfillment, container de-stuffing, temperature and humidity controlled storage, inventory management, and freight transportation and distribution.

Leading Edge Warehouse Management Systems

All of these services are supported by a full complement of high technology, including leading-edge warehouse management systems, electronic data interchange and online access for customers.

Other customized services cover cross docking and trans-loading, packaging and re-packaging, kitting projects, assembling point-of-purchase displays, package labeling inventory checks and cycle counts, drayage and customs clearing.

At Armstrong’s new, 115,000 square-foot facility in Mississauga, 15,000 square feet is temperature and humidity-controlled, which helps with one of its specialties: fine art.

The company established Armstrong Fine Art Services division 40 years ago for the handling, packing, crating and storage of customers’ fine art, antiques, wine collections and other high value goods. In addition, museums, galleries and private collectors entrust their collections to Armstrong Fine Art Services.

“We have the facility you can entrust with storing a single piece of art, a case of fine wine or an entire collection. Our smart, climatic control system ensures the temperature and relative humidity are stable year-round,” Faye notes.

“This has a biometric locking system with alarms, 24-hour security and cameras. In addition, each storage room has advanced smoke and liquid detection systems. It also is meticulously clean and organized and has a private viewing room kitted with museum-grade lighting.”

Armstrong Fine Art Services uses time-tested, proven packing techniques and offers custom, museum-quality crating to protect valuables during transit in the company’s temperature-controlled trucks. It also offers insurance and international shipping services for its fine art customers.

In addition, the company also operates a household goods relocation affiliate called Armstrong Moving, which specializes in high profile moves for relocation companies, large corporations and universities.

The largest United Van Lines agent in Canada, it handles a wide range of moves locally, nationally and internationally. Last year, they did business in more than 100 countries worldwide.

“Our corporate clients have enabled Armstrong to become the market leader in corporate moving over the last two decades,” Faye points out.

A Commitment to Education in Logistics

Another thing that makes the company unique is its Armstrong College, dedicated to training its employees. “We’ve designed a curriculum that ensures all of our team members are at the top of their game and ready to execute your logistics requirements,” she says.

“We recognize that the logistics part of any business may be one of the most stressful. We’re here to make sure the stress is minimal for you and your business during the warehousing and distribution part of the supply chain.”

At Armstrong, the educational journey is never over, Faye stresses. “Our program even includes a health and wellness series. Armstrong team members are taught the importance of being in-shape and energized to better assist you with your logistics needs.”

She adds, “At Armstrong, we’re students for life. We believe there’s always a way to be better and we strive to constantly educate our staff so our team is the best it can be.”

Examples of the company’s dedication to corporate responsibility include support for Tree Canada’s tree planting initiatives throughout that country, and World Vision, which works to improve the lives of children and their families around the world.
