A recent survey finds that a big majority of small business owners believe it is very important for their employees to get vaccinated against Covid 19.

Reimagine Mainstreet conducted the poll, in which 64% of business owners said it is very important that their employees get vaccinated and more than half of small employers say their workers are turning to them with questions.

More than 80% of small employers report having informal conversations with their workers about vaccines and more than half (56%) of these employers also revealed they have had formal conversations with them, including staff meetings, and one-on-one discussions.

The research also found that small employers want science-based guidance for their employees and community and say they are eager to work with trusted partners.

More than half (55%) of respondents say they would use free or low-cost resources to provide guidance and information about Covid 19 vaccines. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and U.S. Food and Drug Administration are the top two preferred sources for information.

More than one quarter (27%) of all respondents say they currently are not working with local health department or chamber of commerce on pandemic response but would like to do so.

The majority (63%) of respondents also say they are willing to encourage and incentivize employees to get vaccinated, and almost one in five (19%) intend to require their employees to get vaccinated, with Asian and Black-owned small employers saying they are most likely to do so.

More than one in four (45%) small employers plan to give workers paid time off to get vaccinated.
